along the beautiful Kaweah River.
Our first stop is along the river at Hospital
Rock, where we will visit an ancient Indian
Village and see the pictographs and
bedrock mortars that were left behind.
From there, the highway climbs over 3,000 feet
to Giant Forest. Along the way, we'll stop
at Amphitheater Point to enjoy views of Moro
Rock and points beyond.
After we enter Giant Forest, home of
giant redwood trees and giant sequoias - , we will
make our way to Moro Rock, where a short walk
offers a stunning view of the peaks of the Great Western
Divide.
Next, we're off to take a short stroll along
Crescent Meadow, stopping in for a visit at
the new Giant Forest Museum with its panoramic
displays depicting the history of the Giant Sequoias.
Then, its time for lunch.
There is no better place than the Wuksachi Lodge! The dining
room, situated so you can sit and enjoy the view of the breathtaking
scenery, including the forest and mountainns, through
the large picture window while you enjoy the delicious, moderately
priced meals.
The tour resumes with a visit to General
Sherman. Towering at 274.9' (83.8 meters tall) and
