Frequently Asked Questions

QUESTION: How long is the tour?
Our full-day tour is generally 8 hours long. Our half-day tour (leaving from Wuksachi Lodge) is generally 3 1/2 hours long. Of course all times are dependent upon weather, wildlife sighting, or other conditions out of our control - all of which might effect our time.

QUESTION: What will we see?
Most of our time together will be spent in the Giant Forest grove of giant sequoias. We will visit some of the main attractions in Sequoia National Park.

Summer tours generally include the Auto Log, Moro Rock, the Tunnel Log, the Parker Group, and the General Sherman tree. Full-day tours might also include stops at the Giant Forest Museum, Hospital Rock or an easily accessible meadow.

Winter tours generally include 11 Ranges overlook, the Giant Forest Museum, Round Meadow, the General Sherman tree, Long Meadow, and the Tokopah Valley.

QUESTION: Will we have the opportunity to get off the bus and walk around?
Yes. After the initial drive into the Giant Forest, we will be making frequent stops to explore the wonders of Sequoia National Park.

QUESTION: Where will I be picked up?
Full-day tour guests will be picked up at their accommodations in Three Rivers. Half-day tour guests will be picked up at the Wuksachi Lodge in Sequoia National Park.

QUESTION: Are your tours wheel chair accessible?
We can accommodate those able to use a bus seat and can carry collapsed wheelchairs and walkers. We do not have ramps or spots for open wheelchairs on our vehicles.

QUESTION: What will the weather be like during our tour?
The weather in the Sierra Nevada Mountains can be unpredictable. You can check the weather at the following website:

QUESTION: What should I wear?
You should dress in layers. Wuksachi Lodge sits at an elevation of Elevation 7200' above sea level. The weather can vary from one location to another, so dressing layers will allow you to be comfortable no matter where you are. Also, walking shoes or warm boots are suggested for the winter. ) Seasonally appropriate clothing will help keep you comfortable.

QUESTION: What should I bring?
Bring a camera, water, snacks to eat at the stops and sunscreen. Depending on the season you might want to have a sun hat, gloves, a warm hat, rain jacket, sweater, or a heavy coat.

QUESTION: What about lunch?
Depending on the season, we stop for lunch at Wuksachi Lodge or the hot grill/deli at Lodgepole in Sequoia National Park.

QUESTION: Will we have the opportunity to shop for souvenirs?
Both locations mentioned above and the Giant Forest Museum offer the opportunity for buying souvenirs of your visit.
